Dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid (HA) are clear, gel-like substances injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth out wrinkles and lines, and enhance facial contours. Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the body that helps the skin stay hydrated and plump.
The longevity of results varies depending on the specific product used, the injection area (e.g., lips vs. cheeks), and individual metabolism. Generally, hyaluronic acid fillers last anywhere from 6 to 18 months, after which the body naturally absorbs the filler material.
